Register for a Bennion Center Community Engaged Learning Class

Community Engaged Learning (CEL) classes involve students, faculty and community partners working together to apply knowledge in authentic settings in order to address community needs while also meeting instructional objectives. The Bennion Center is offering 3 great CEL classes this Spring Semester:

BENN 2020, Pathways to Engagement: Students in this course will explore and examine the history and key tenets of community engagement, develop an understanding of civic competencies, and participate in community-engaged learning experiences. (3 credits).

BENN 2030, Intro to Civic Leadership: This class will focus on the challenges facing our communities, the Social Change Model of Leadership, and developing the civic competencies needed to make a meaningful contribution to a better world. (3 credits)

BENN 2929, Community Emersion:  For students participating in Alternative Break trips; each section of this course and its corresponding AB trip is collaboratively designed to address social, economic, political, and environmental issues through education, community engagement, and travel.
